| The "Security Number", also sometimes called "Credit Card Verification Number" or "CCV Number",
is a feature of modern credit cards which is meant to help protect your account. This number helps to prove that you are
in physical posession of your credit card, thus helping prevent fraud. The following images show where this can be found on each type of card. |

Visa On a VISA card, the CCV is the last three digits printed in the signature box on the back of the credit card. |

MasterCard Just like with VISA, MasterCard has its CCV shown as the last three digits printed in the signature box on the back of the card. |

Discover As with VISA and MasterCard, Discover prints the CCV on the back of the card - the last three digits in the signature box. |

American Express American Express prints the CCV on the front of the card, above the credit card number on either the right or left side of the card. American Express CCVs are four digits long. |
