It's time for the big dance of the year! This annual prom has become a homeschooling tradition that draws homeschooled teens from all over the state! We invite you to join your fellow homeschoolers for a golden evening at the 8th Annual Formal Homeschool Prom!

As in previous years, this elegant dance will be held in the historic Peteetneet Academy in Payson, Utah (see map here). Wholesome music, appropriate lighting, glittery decorations, modest dress, fun atmosphere, dance cards, lots of door prizes, dance contests and fancy refreshments all combine to make this dance extra special! Following an old tradition, girls that have turned 16 years old during the past year and are officially "dating age" will be presented to the audience escorted across the stage on the arm of their father. (Daddy: a corsage for your young woman would make the evening completely dreamy!)

The dance will be on Saturday night, March 15th from 7:30 until 10:45 PM. The evening will begin with circle dances, line dances and other no-partner dances so everyone can get comfortable dancing. The music will be high standards and fun, new and old: waltz, cha cha, polka, swing, mixers, line dances, fox trot, twist, stroll, etc. (Strength of Youth standards will be upheld.)

This is a "no date" dance—enjoy dancing with and meeting lots of new friends during this special evening. Fill your dance card with lots of different partners and win a prize!

Dress in modest formal wear, or Sunday best. (A long skirt with a blouse is an economic alternative for a ball gown. D.I. has some great prom dresses too!) Plan a modest outfit that is not tight and includes sleeves (that cover the shoulder and the armpit), modest neckline and back, below-the-knee hemlines and/or slits. Young men may wear suits, tuxedos, or shirts and ties.

Dance is limited to 200 people, so get your tickets now! Tickets may be purchased pre-sale for $10 each, with a pre-sale Family Pass available for $35 (includes up to five immediate family members living under the same roof). Tickets are $12 at the door. Tickets available at Books & Fun, 741 North State Road, Salem, Monday-Saturday, 9:30-5:30 pm. You may also buy tickets online (click here) or by phone (801) 423-9158.

Sponsored by the Hopkins family (Rick & Diane).
