 Each Valentine's Day, our family exchanges creative Valentine's cards. We have a very fun and happy evening when we all sit around the table with lots of glue-sticks, colored paper, scissors, and particularly the magazines and catalogs we cut up. We get silly and laugh a lot! The goofiest cards are the best ones it seems.
Little children love this time together. It creates a lot of anticipation for Valentine's Day when we all open up our cards. We put our cards into handmade folders that we tape on the wall (no peeking until the February 14th comes). There are lots of warm feelings and hugs when we do our exchange! Even the college kids can't seem to stay away at this time!

I am Diane Hopkins, mother of 7 children (ages 12 to 32) whom I have had the privilege of homeschooling over the past 18 years. I'm a mom, just like you, and have those fabulous days and those not-so-good days like we all do. My hope in writing is to share experiences, and hopefully we can encourage one another in this wonderful, intense adventure of childraising--that is really what homeschooling is, after all.
